Crane Operations Permit Application


Before commencing any crane operations within the Darwin International Airport precinct, contractors must complete this Permit application and have it approved. 

The purpose of this Permit is to ensure that all safety aspects of crane operations have been considered and actioned including reducing the danger to people and damage to infrastructure and services.

  • You must arrange for an Obstacle Limitation Surface (OLS) Assessment with DIA Operations. This will assess if the obstacle height infringes the protected airspace and is a critical task for this application. To arrange the assessment, upload the relevant details to  Crane Application 


Cancellation: If approved, you must request cancellation of the permit on completion of works via the Workflow Link within the approval notification email.

NB: Crane Operations cannot proceed without enuring the ground support capability. If unsure, please discuss with your Project Manager. 

Part 4 – Acknowledgement of Applicant

I confirm that: 

  • I will comply with the ADG special conditions decided by the ADG authorised person.

  • I agree to repair any damage caused to the site or pay the costs associated with any repair work.

  • I agree to comply with all work health and safety requirements as outlined in our SWMS.

  • I will return my copy of this Permit for cancellation by the ADG Authorised Person, once work has been safely completed.

Part 5 - ADG Safety Assessment
